National Clean Up Day
Saturday 29 August has been approved by Cabinet as the National Clean Up Day for the Apia town area in preparations for the Teuila Festival 2009. The Samoa Tourism Authority and the National Beautification Committee initiated this programme, and have asked for assistance from Government Ministries and Corporations, as of the usual practice every year.
The main focus of the submission was for Cabinet to issue a directive to Ministries and Corporations for their support.
The submission also asked for Ministries and Corporations to allow the use of their tools and vehicles to collect the rubbish for the Tafaigata dump site. Ministries and Corporations are also asked to care of their own staff after cleaning up of their allotted areas.
